April N. McCants-Baskin is the Democratic candidate for New York Senate District 63 on the November 3, 2026 ballot, per the State Board of Elections' certified general-election ballot. April N. McCants-Baskin is a sitting member for the district, per the State Senate's member directory. McCants-Baskin is the incumbent state senator for District 63. She previously served as an Erie County Legislature member from 2018 to 2024, including as Majority Leader and Chair, per her campaign site. A lifelong Buffalo native with a Theatre Arts degree from SUNY Empire State University, she was the first Black woman from the City of Buffalo elected to the State Senate.
