A U.S. Air Force veteran with a biology degree from the University of West Florida, Anna Paulina Luna was first elected in 2022 and is the first Mexican American woman elected to Congress from Florida, per her official House biography. She serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and chairs the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, per that biography. Her campaign site says she pressed the Army Corps of Engineers to begin Pinellas beach renourishment projects, and her campaign news page features her effort to force a House vote on banning congressional stock trading.
