Biography
Harris is a physician who practiced anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital for nearly three decades before entering politics, per the campaign site. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and served more than 16 years in the Naval Reserve Medical Corps, reaching the rank of Commander, per the campaign site. He was elected to the Maryland State Senate in 1998 and now serves in the U.S. House, where he chairs the House Freedom Caucus and the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, per the campaign site.
