Amy J. Santiago of Providence is the Democratic candidate for Rhode Island House District 7 on the November 3, 2026 ballot, per the Rhode Island Department of State's declared-candidates report and the Board of Elections' September 9, 2026 primary results. Amy J. Santiago is the sitting member for the district, per the Board of Elections' incumbent marker on the primary results. Santiago is a first-time candidate running for the open Rhode Island House District 7 seat in Providence, a seat vacated by Rep. David Morales, who did not seek re-election in order to run for Providence mayor, according to Rhode Island Current. She has said she supports rent control in the capital city and backed the millionaire's tax included in the state's fiscal year 2027 budget. Her campaign site says she believes a state representative's job is to listen to the community and fight for what it is asking for.
